Re: The poms lost it,Kiwis were lucky,
All these calls about New Zealand were lucky, is a bit far fetched.
New Zealand lack class? Aye...that is a lacklustre comment. I'm not too sure if Vatuvei scored 4 tries against the Poms in the pool match. I'm not too sure whether creativity from the backs endured Vatuvei to cross the line four times was through luck? Errr NO!!
England's defence lacks class. That is the straight forward answer.
New Zealand won't trouble Australia? When was the last team to do so? New Zealand in 2005.
Their backs won't do much because they're not talented enough and Benji isn't in form. Not from what I saw in the pool match. He ignited everything the backs did and created havoc. Hardly in form hey. Mate quit while your behind.
At the end of the day your at Heathrow, we are at Suncorp and it is all roses and rock in roll while the Poms suffer yet another loss.

"The only team who has the ability to score many points against Australia is England"
hahaha! Jeeze you crack me up! Are you trolling or what?
P.N.G scored more points and had a smaller margin against Australia than England.
There are teams that didnt make the semi finals that had better points differentials and win loss ratios in this tournement than England.
I dont like the odd's of our UNDERSTRENGTH Kiwis side pulling off a major upset this weekend, but I can assure you they will do much better than your "classy" English team.

Yep, that’s what I’m saying… I don’t like our chances, but one things for sure…
I’d rather be playing in the final than sitting on a plane ride all the way tp the other side of the world…
Expect the unexpected!
GO THE KIWI’S!

Re: The poms lost it,Kiwis were lucky,
After watching both the England v NZ games, and both their games against the aussies, I think the Poms are lucky to even get as close as they did against NZ, so i would consider them to be the lucky ones
They crumbled against Australia and didn't look threatening at all where as the Kiwis atleast showed they have a somewhat stable defense I think the Kiwis deserve their final spot this weekend, and as an Aussie, i definately wouldn't write of the Kiwis they have showed that they have the skills and the players to make it happen, they just need to piece it together and if they can they will put up a good fight i havn't seen england as a threatening team, they don't work well together and can't handle pressure situations and certainly aren't performing to the standard that would be expected of them

My thoughts exactly bro...
We know we have a shot, although it may be only a small chance...and the Aussies know it too... that's why they'll be coming out guns blazing right from the start, to ensure we don't even get a foot in the door...
That means we have to fight fire with fire!
bring it on!

Re: The poms lost it,Kiwis were lucky,
Some of you Kiwis have your head up your ars.I said the Poms lost the game and the Kiwis were lucky they didnt have some of the poor Pommy players in their team,if they had they would have lost! Do you understand that?
The English fan has an opinion that I didnt agree with but back off please.
The Kiwis lack class except for Marshall and Fien the rest are toilers,Vatuvei and Ropati are yet to prove themsleves against OZ.Its easy to score 4 tries against WOEFUL defence. The Poms should have done a lot better!
If you are going to make such attacking comments try reading the posts and understanding them before going off your brain.

perhaps you should read and understand what your compatriots have posted before getting all defensive there is alot of posts about how crap nz league is and if you look they made all the grand finals that actually puts them in great stead for now and the future you only think we are sheep shaggers cause if you had that much opportunity youd be in boots and all

No they're not. New Zealand were able to score points because they were smart enough to exploit England's frail defence. England's superior attack was negated somewhat by a lack of cohesion among the outside backs.
maori_souljah12:
New Zealand lack class? Aye...that is a lacklustre comment.
No, it's not. New Zealand are an average side because they have a dearth of quality playmakers. It's why it's been such a long time since they last won a Test match against the Kangaroos on Australian soil.
maori_souljah12:
I'm not too sure if Vatuvei scored 4 tries against the Poms in the pool match. I'm not too sure whether creativity from the backs endured Vatuvei to cross the line four times was through luck? Errr NO!!
The reason Vatuvei scored a few tries during the pool match is because England's defence was dreadful. Each of his tries were derived from England's outside backs not marking up. The men on the flank would fall for the same decoy player on each occasion. New Zealand's halves ought to be commended for having the insight to exploit England's problematic defence. However, they haven't earned the right to be called a creative unit.
maori_souljah12:

Exactly! I've spoken about England's dreadful defence on many occasions. And, since England's defence is so appauling, I think it's best to NOT get too carried away with New Zealand's ability to put 60 odd points on them within 160 minutes of football. The acid test will come when they play Australia. If past results are anything to go by, then New Zealand will be lucky to score once against Australia.
maori_souljah12:
New Zealand won't trouble Australia? When was the last team to do so? New Zealand in 2005.
Wrong. Great Britain defeated Australia at the SFS in 2006. The final score was 23-12.
maori_souljah12:
Their backs won't do much because they're not talented enough and Benji isn't in form. Not from what I saw in the pool match. He ignited everything the backs did and created havoc.
No he didn't. The hooker and Nathan Fien played a far larger role in New Zealand's win. The only time Marshall has looked "in control" during this tournament was during the first half of the New Zealand vs PNG match.
maori_souljah12:
Mate quit while your behind.
Ha!. This is funny as it's coming from a man who forgot about the Lions victory over Australia in 2006.
In conclusion, I don't think the Kiwis have shown anything to suggest they're the world's second best side. All they've shown is they're able to defeat an understrength, out-of-form English side and thrash weaker teams such as PNG and Tonga. Last year's GB vs NZ series showed how weak New Zealand are when they're up against an in-form GB/English team. Men like Sam Burgess and Gareth Raynor were standouts during the series. Pryce was in form and so was our second row. Until New Zealand is capable of defeating a full-strength English team that is at its best, I'll continue to rate New Zealand as the game's third best team.
The Kiwis will be well out of their league when they play against Australia on Saturday.

Using your logic, England has a better Test cricket team than Australia as they've never been challenged by Bangladesh, while Australia were given a fright by them a couple of years ago.
England's scoreline against Australia was so lopsided because the English pretty much gave up during the mid-point of the 2nd half. They knew there was no point in exerting too much effort as the match was beyond them. Their focus was on retaining as much energy as possible so they could put in a big effort against the Kiwis. And it paid off during the first 30 or so minutes of the pool game against the Kiwis in Newcastle. They were slaughtering New Zealand up until the point they started making silly handling errors and gave away numerous penalties. I think the fact England were able to score so many points in such a short space of time shows how far they could have gone if they played at their best. New Zealand ought to count themselves lucky that England's defence, completion rate and fitness were so poor.
bakebeans:

How many of them played against Australia? None.

Hypocrite. You have the gall to say New Zealand are understrength, yet you ignore the fact that England's campaign was ravaged by injury. Quite a few big name players were ruled out because they were injured.

I'm still scratching my head over your bizarre conclusion. Roby, McGuire and Burrow were far more threatening against Australia than any of New Zealand's playmakers were when they played the Kangaroos. New Zealand were ripped to shreds by Burrow, Gleeson and Higham during the first 30 or so minutes of the pool match in Newcastle. New Zealand's tries were gifted to them by England's dreadful defence on the flanks.
England's problems were caused by their poor fitness, poor coaching, indiscipline and inability to complete their sets. New Zealand would lose as well if they made as many handling errors, missed tackles and gave away so many penalties.

You're too kind. I hope the Australians score a dozen tries. I'd never support the whingeing Kiwis! All they ever do is complain when they lose to Australia. Then they point to the Chappell incident from long ago and claim they're discriminated against.
